OSU Institute of Technology has partnered with the Northeast Workforce In Action over the past three summers in a program designed to expose the students to technical education and career opportunities as well as essential life skills.
The Academy's project-based curriculum exposes the youth to the engineering technologies including manufacturing, design and drafting and electrical/electronics. These disciplines are interwoven so that students must apply concepts form each to complete a given project.
Students not only learn and apply the above the disciplines to complete their project, but also learn and apply concepts associated with business and personal accounting, job seeking and keeping skills, marketing, and social skills.
